What's New in September
Highlights
Every text box is a real editor now. Descriptions, comments, highlight reasons, bug reports: all of them run the same editor instead of a plain text area. Type / for a menu of headings, lists, code blocks and tables. Code blocks get syntax highlighting. Tables get hover grips for adding and deleting rows and columns. Mermaid blocks render as diagrams, including pie charts, and a diagram that cannot be parsed shows an error instead of dumping raw text into the page.
Mention someone and they hear about it. Type @ in any comment or description and pick a project member. They get a notification, and mentions have their own tab on the Watching page with an unread badge in the sidebar. You can mark notifications read or unread, and follow an item straight from a notification card. Mentions added to an item or milestone description notify too, not only mentions in comments.
Type # to link an item from anywhere you write. The picker searches by title and number, works at the start of a line, and works in every editor in the app. Bare references like #1234 become links when the text renders, so a pasted item number links itself without you reaching for the picker.
The roadmap handles a real-sized project. A minimap lets you pan a roadmap that no longer fits on screen, auto-arrange lays out milestones without dragging each one, and filter layers let you hide what you are not looking at. New milestones get a deterministic server-side position, so two people opening the same roadmap see the same layout.
Fixed
- Milestones have their own comment thread, and the item chat panel merges comments and activity into one stream with a filter for human versus automatic entries.
- Project members have a profile page, reachable from anywhere their name appears.
- The Watching page is open to Stakeholders and Viewers, not only editors.
Cmd+Ojumps to any item by name, and?lists every shortcut.- Item activity and code activity are available over the REST API and to MCP clients, including commits and pull requests linked to an item.
- Status-change timestamps can be backdated, so a project imported from elsewhere keeps its real history.
- Mermaid diagrams written without spaces around arrows no longer silently drop nodes and edges.
- Editing a milestone no longer quietly set its end date to today.
- The editor stopped fighting live typing when a value changed underneath it, and no longer kept stale text after a submit cleared the field.
- Suggestion popups position correctly instead of drifting away from the text they belong to.
- Pasted and uploaded images survive a failed load with a visible error instead of breaking the layout.
- Milestone card previews show plain text rather than raw markdown.
- Escape closes the slash menu and the item picker instead of closing the dialog behind them.
- Teams can be listed and assigned to a milestone from MCP clients.
